A 4,3 magnitude earthquake hit not far from Iran's city of Tabriz early on Saturday, according to U.S. Geological Survey.
According to the report, the earthquake occured 35 kilometers NorthEast of Tabriz.
On Oct. 26, U.S. Geological survey reported another 4,5 magnitude earthquake occuring 34 kilometers SouthWest of Iran's Ahar city in East Azerbaijan Province.
On Oct. 22, a 4,7 magnitude earthquake hit at the spot of 76 km to the central region of Bazman and 119 km to center of Iranshahr in southeastern Sistan-Balouchestan province, IRNA reported.
Iran is one of the most seismically active countries in the world, being crossed by several major fault lines that cover at least 90% of the country.
As a result, earthquakes in Iran occur often and are destructive.
The Iranian plateau is subject to most types of tectonic activity, including active folding, faulting and volcanic eruptions. It is well known for its long history of disastrous earthquake activity.
