The number of foreign tourists arriving in Turkey increased by 0.5 percent in January-September 2012 compared to the same period of 2011 and reached 25.7 million people, Turkish Culture and Tourism Ministry's website reported on Tuesday.
In September, the number of tourists in Turkey increased by 1.73 per cent compared to the same month in 2011, and reached 3.9 million people.
The number of tourists in September increased by one percent compared to the previous month.
Some 41 percent of the total number of tourists visited Antalya. Other tourists visited mainly Istanbul, Mugla, Izmir, Adana and Edirne.
In January-September, most tourists came to Turkey from Germany - 15.2 percent, Russia - 12.7 percent, the UK - 8 percent.
