The complete withdrawal of Georgian troops from Afghanistan after 2014 has not been resolved, candidate for the post of Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze said at a hearing in the Georgian Parliament today.
The candidates for ministers are being interviewed in the committees and factions of the parliament during Tuesday and Wednesday. It is planned to approve the staff of the parliament on October 25.
Previously, candidate for the post of Defense Minister Irakli Alasania said that the Georgian peacekeepers may be withdrawn from Afghanistan in 2014.
"Alasania's statement was not categorical, she said. "We believe that Georgia must fulfill its international obligations and despite it has lost 18 servicemen we must contribute to peace and stability in Afghanistan. It is planned to discuss our participation after 2014."
Earlier, Bidzina Ivanishvili proposed candidates for ministers in the new Georgian government.
