Several ministries in Georgian government can be united

12 October 2012 [14:19] - TODAY.AZ
Several ministries in the Georgian government and committees in parliament can be united, Georgian Dream coalition representative David Saganelidze said.

He said presumably parliamentary economic committees and ministries will unite.

Saganelidze noted that no concrete decisions have been made yet, but the Employment Ministry is likely to be abolished.

"As for the Environment Ministry, I think that uniting it with natural resources is unacceptable. They should function separately to avoid a conflict of interests," he said.

Parliamentary elections with the participation of 14 parties and two political blocks took place in Georgia on October 1. They were held under a mixed list-majority system.

According to complete preliminary CEC data, the Georgian Dream coalition will have 83 deputy mandates and the United National Movement- 67.
