Georgia must do everything to continue its NATO partnership in Afghanistan and other troubled countries, leader of "Georgian Dream" opposition coalition Bidzina Ivanishvili said today.
U.S. Ambassador Richard Norland and military attaché were in attendance, as Ivanishvili received Lieutenant General John Paxton, Col. James O 'Meara and Colonel Geoffrey Hartman, Ivanishvili's official Facebook page said.
The U.S. military officials congratulated the leader of the coalition on his election victories.
Military cooperation between the two countries was discussed and Ivanishvili said that the United States made a special contribution to the formation of the Georgian Armed Forces and its rapprochement with NATO standards.
