Iran presents new anti-aircraft defence system

Iran has unveiled a brand new anti-aircraft defence system at the military parade being held in Tehran during the Holy Defense Week, IRINN TV channel reported live.

The new anti-aircraft defence system is named "RAD", and it belong to Iran's IRGC (Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps.

The system is able to fire missiles at an altitude of 50 km (75,000 ft).

Today, Iran is holding the Holy Defense Week, which is celebrated annually in Iran to commemorate those who died during the Iran-Iraq War.

The Iran-Iraq War began on Sept. 22, 1980 when the Iraqi army attacked the Iranian province of Khuzistan.

The war ended with a ceasefire agreement on August 1988. The border between the two countries remained unchanged.
