Georgian Prime Minister Vano Merabishvili visited the regions of Georgia in the East, which were affected by disaster on Monday night. The Prime Minister first visited Rustavi, where rain and hail caused flooding; there is no water and electricity in the city, the office of the Prime Minister said.
The flooding has caused great damage to the infrastructure of the city.
Merabishvili met with residents of the areas, which suffered the most, and promised assistance from the state to them. Particularly few homes that have lost roofs and windows suffered the most in Rustavi.
Merabishvili also promised to help the owners of shops that were located in the basement, and which were completely destroyed by flooding.
Later, the Prime Minister went to the region of Kakheti, where rain and hail completely destroyed crops of local residents and damaged homes.
Merabishvili visited all the affected villages and promised to help after calculating damages. Prior to this houses will be renovated by the local authorities.
