Russian President Vladimir Putin supported Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy, IRNA reported.
Speaking in a live "Russia 24" TV network program on Tuesday afternoon, Putin stressed that Moscow believes Iran has is entitled to use peaceful nuclear energy with this guarantee that its nuclear program won't lead to production of nuclear weapons.
He added, 'Although Iran problem is not simple, I believe the issue should be settled through peaceful means and dialogue and through observing Iranians' rights.'
Iran should also offer guarantees to the world community that its nuclear program will not lead to production of atomic weapons and proliferation of mass destruction arsenal, added Putin.
President Putin in his recent meeting with President Ahmadinejad in Beijing had said that Moscow would always support Iran's right to use peaceful nuclear energy.
He had already said that Iran can use nuclear energy only for peaceful goals adding that Moscow is completely committed to non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
