UN to award Georgia

The Georgian Justice Ministry will get a UN award for improving its public service today. A delegation of the Justice Ministry is already in New York to participate in the ceremony.

According to the Justice Ministry, Georgia is the first country of the former Soviet Union which has received such recognition. The U.S., Canada, Japan, Germany, Sweden and the Netherlands have similar awards.

The Georgian delegation will also attend the UN annual conference. The experience in improving public services will be exchanged.

The fight against corruption and implementation of services for citizens are also among the issues to be discussed.
