The Georgian parliamentary majority believes that the Russian money in the Georgian business can only be welcomed. In particular, MP Giorgi Gabashvili, who commented on sale of Madneuli and Quartzite to the Russian company, thinks so.
He said that in the ordinary business relations investment is a normal thing, only investment in politics poses a threat.
"We welcome civilized contacts and Russian tourists who will spend money in Georgia. We welcome businessmen, if they spend money in Georgia, and do not welcome tankmen from Russia, who without our permission are on our territory. We do not welcome the Russian business community, which tries to buy Georgian politics and focuses on Georgian politics," Gabashvili said.
He said if the businessmen from Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, USA, Germany and France invest in Georgian hotels, businesses and create new jobs, then there is nothing wrong with that. But if someone decides with the help of money earned in Russia to subordinate the Georgian politics to Russian interests, the Government will always struggle against that, the deputy said.
It should be recalled that Madneuli and Quartzite were bought by Capital Group, whose shareholders are Russian businessmen Dmitry Korzhev and Dmitry Troitsky.
