UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said Thursday there has been "no progress" on the ground on the implementation of the ceasefire in Syria, calling the situation "unacceptable", dpa reported.
Ban said the UN Security Council was expected to quickly endorse the plan to deploy 300 military observers and civilian supporting staff, adding that the question of whether the number of observers would meet the demands on the ground would be reviewed.
He said Damascus had agreed to provide air support and mobility for the observers and not to impede their freedom of movement.
