06 April 2012 [18:43] - TODAY.AZ
The Republic of Moldova sold armaments to Armenia thereby making some violations, the members of the parliamentary investigation commission for sale of ammunitions from arsenal of the Armed Forces came to this conclusion.

According to the commission`s report, the ammunitions from the arsenal of the Armed Forces were sold during the direct talks with the only buyer. Contrary to the acting legislation, there was no tender for the sale of weapons.

The members of the investigation commission determined that representatives of the governmental commission on sale of assets of the Armed Forces sealed agreements with the Latvian Company Latspeceksports though it has no all documents necessary for such deals.
The report says Moldovan defence minister Vitalie Marinu?a allowed starting negotiations with persons who had no relevant authority and documents needed. At the same time, deputy foreign and European integration minister of Moldova Andrey Popov, who was a member of the governmental commission on sale of the assets of the Armed Forces, demonstrated his negligence and damaged the image of Moldova abroad. The document says the Information and Security Service of Moldova superficially reviewed the documents on sale of armaments, which undermined national security and favored the Latvian company.

The reply of the commission will be submitted for consideration to the Prosecutor General Office, President of Moldova Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Vlad Filat.
