29 February 2012 [10:13] - TODAY.AZ
Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili said he fulfilled his last year promises in part. The government is working on the development plan designed to 2015, Mikheil Saakashvili said at the Parliament of Georgia on Tuesday.

"We were able to provide 35 percent increase in agriculture production, to gasify more than half of the settlements of Georgia last year and the level of gasification reached 65 percent of the promised 70 this year," Saakashvili said.

Saakashvili also said there is a progress in the employment situation. "Some 13,000 people will be employed in the construction of 15 hydroelectric power stations, construction of which we have already begun," Saakashvili said.

Increase of number of tourists to Georgia is also very important, Saakashvili added. "we attract nearly 3 million tourists this year and we plan to increase this figure to 5 million next year, and it is an additional work places in agriculture and service sector" the President said.

However, in spite of economic and GDP growth, many citizens perceive it detached, as their situation has not improved by these changes, Saakashvili said. "Now our task is to make this economic process to be felt in the life of every citizen" Saakashvili said.
