
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov is paying an official visit to Turkey, the Turkmen government said on Tuesday.
"As expected, agenda of the next top level bilateral talks, scheduled for Feb.29, will include a wide range of issues related to further intensification of mutually beneficial cooperation on its priorities," the report said.
President Berdimuhammadov's current visit, which is paid on the initiative of the Turkish side, is his foreign visit as re-elected head of state.
"This fact also clearly demonstrates the importance attached by the parties the development of traditionally friendly intergovernmental partnership" .
Following the talks, a package of bilateral documents will be signed.
"Turkmenistan Park" and the monument to the outstanding Turkmen poet and thinker Magtymguly Pyragy are scheduled to be opened in Ankara.
The visit program includes a visit to Istanbul, where an exhibition of the Turkmen products will be organized. At the same time a joint business forum will be held, which is scheduled to be attended by the presidents of both countries.
"This visit, which coincides with a milestone in the history of the intergovernmental dialogue - the 20th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Turkmenistan and Turkey, will provide strong new incentives for the further development of fruitful bilateral cooperation built on the principles of full partnership and which meets mutual interests," the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper reported on Tuesday.
Ankara has expressed interest in delivery of the Caspian energy resources to Europe through the Caspian Sea and Turkey. Ashgabat wants to attract a number of Turkish companies for the construction of the Caspian Sea resort Avaza.
