OIC rejects decision of French Parliament

24 December 2011 [09:54] - TODAY.AZ
"We, as an organization, reject the bill approved by National Assembly of France considering a crime negation of demands of the Armenians in connection with the events of 1915. This was stated to the Anatolian News Agency by the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu who is taking part in work of conference on the theme "Changes in Muslim society and the role of the women".

E. Ihsanoglu noted that at the heart of the French state there are principles of freedom, equality and justice. Two of these principles have been already violated. When we criticize those who offend our Prophet (PBUH), our sanctuaries, we are told that it was freedom of thought and expression. Those who prove non-ethical caricatures on our Prophet as freedom of thought have made today an unfair decision. It is flagrant contradiction.
