France will pay dearly for its mistake if it passes a law criminalizing the denial of the so-called "Armenian Genocide," Turkish MP Mustafa Kabakci believes. "We believe that the whole Turkic world will sharply oppose France's intention, and Paris will pay dearly for it," Kabakci told journalists in Baku.
He said a fictitious "Armenian genocide" problem is not a political, but a scientific issue. Turkey is ready to open all its archives, involve scientists in the issue and ensure triumph of historical truth.
"But turning historical issue into the political one and trying to accuse Turkey is wrong at all. Historians should make a verdict on the issue," Kabakci stressed. He underlined that today's Turkey is not the same as old Turkey, and those who doubt about it will see that they are wrong.
"Turkey has never been and will never be alone. The society covering wide Turkic geography, including fraternal Azerbaijani people is near us," Kabakci said.
