Georgia is economically secure

20 December 2011 [17:44] - TODAY.AZ
Georgia's 2012 budget was planned conservatively, Georgian Finance Minister Dmitry Gvindadze told journalists on Tuesday. He said Georgia has small and open economy, which significantly depends on the global economy. Therefore, in the future, the main emphasis was made on social expenses and implementation of infrastructure projects in the regions.

In general, 2011 was a financially successful for the country, Gvindadze said. "The country is economically secure," he said.  Georgia will finish 2011 with a fairly high rate of economic growth at about 6.5 percent. Reforms were executed for customs and tax administration, and budget deficit reduces, Gvindadze said.
