Azerbaijan`s President awarded “Worthy friend of Balkans” award

The Serbian Foundation “Ana and Vlade Divac” has awarded President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with the “Worthy friend of Balkans” award for his direct support, care, attention and special services in implementation of some important humanitarian projects in Balkan states.

According to the decision of the Foundation, President Ilham Aliyev has been awarded with the “Worthy friend of Balkans” award for his contribution to comprehensive development of Azerbaijan-Balkan states relationship, special services in deepening relations between peoples of Azerbaijan and Balkan states, reconstruction and repair of Tašmajdan Park and Bayraklı Camii mosque in Belgrade, establishment of memorial complex of prominent Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibayli in Novi Sad and construction of Chapel of St. Petka, restoration of Novi Pazar Culture House, support for reconstruction of the Baku street and Friendship park in Sarajevo, humanitarian aid for mothers and children stationeries under the Foundation of Infant, Children and Teenagers Welfare, refugees in Vojvodina province, as well residents of Virpazar suffered from heavy rains in Montenegro, support for publishing Serbian writer Milorad Pavic`s “Caspian dictionary” book in Azerbaijani language, decision on erection of Serbian scientist Nikola Teslan`s monument, contribution to various cultures` becoming closer and religious tolerance.

Foundation Ana and Vlade Divac was founded on 28th June 2007 as an independent nonprofit organization with a mission to provide aid to civilians especially refugees with practical solutions to their vital and existential problems by focusing on solving their housing problems in particular. The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation (HOD) is co-founded by Ana and Vlade Divac, initiators of numerous humanitarian projects during the course of the last 20 years of their humanitarian work. It was founded by famous sportsman, president of the Serbian Olympic Committee.
