Azerbaijani and Russian border guards plan to hold a joint exercise in the Caspian Sea next year, chief of the South Regional Border Department of the Russian Federal Security Service, Colonel-General Nikolai Lisinski told journalists in Baku.
Lisinski said discussions were underway regarding the exercise.
“We want to hold exercises beyond the bilateral format. We want the other Caspian states – Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Iran to attend them,” he noted. Lisinski added talks would be conducted in Moscow with participation of chiefs of border services of these states.
