Newly appointed UAE ambassador congratulates Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received newly appointed UAE Ambassador Salem Khalifa Al-Aghfali.

Ambassador congratulated the Azerbaijani side with the country's election to the UN Security Council and called this event as Azerbaijan's great diplomatic victory, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry said on Friday.

Salem Khalifa Al-Aghfali conveyed UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan's greetings.

Mammadyarov said that Azerbaijan always feels the UAE support. Azerbaijan-UAE ties are at the highest level at a bilateral level and within the international organizations.

The appointment of such an experienced ambassador to Azerbaijan testifies to the importance attached to Azerbaijan by the UAE, Mammadyarov said. He also expressed confidence that his appointment will contribute to the development of relations between the two countries.

Mammadyarov also conveyed his greetings to UAE Foreign Minister.
