Symposium and conference on Nagorno Karabakh conflict to be held in Washington

The issue of “Assessing the Deadlock in the Nagorno-Karabakh Peace Process” will be discussed in Washington, DC at the special symposium October 15.

The event will be held at the George Mason University with participation of Azerbaijani and Armenians officials as well.

Elman Abdullayev, Head of Press Department of Azerbaijani MFA, Gulshan Pashayeva from Baku-based Center for Strategic Studies, and Taleh Ziyadov from Azerbaijani Diplomatic Academy will be represent the Azeri side.

Armenia will be represented by Tigran Mkrtchyan from the MFA and several civil society members.

Prominent analyst Thomas De Waal from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace will moderate the discussions.

Another conference “The Big Caucasus: Old Ethno-Political Conflicts and New Geopolitical Design” will take place in the US Capital October 24 hosted by the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Ambassador Peter Semneby, EU former Special Representative for the South Caucasus, will address the conference with the topic of “EU Strategies and Projects”.
