Venice Commission makes conclusion new draft law on political parties of Azerbaijan

The Venice Commission has made a conclusion on the new draft law on political parties of Azerbaijan, member of human rights committee of Parliament, MP Fazil Mustafa said.

According to him, the Venice Commission has given its recommendations on the provisions on party registration, cancellation of registration of parties, the intra-party democracy and the financing of political parties.

During discussions over the draft law, the recommendations of the Venice Commission will be assumed as a basis, said Mustafa. According to MP, the draft law will be presented for discussions at one of the regular sessions of the Parliament.

The current Law on political parties of Azerbaijan was adopted in 1992.
