Azeri MP meets Bashkortostan`s parliament speaker

Azerbaijani MP Gular Ahmadova has met speaker of Bashkortostan`s parliament Konstantin Tolkachev. Ahmadova is visiting Ufa for the 4th World Congress of Turkic Sociologists. They discussed cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia`s federal districts, in particular in protecting children`s rights and boosting child tourism.

Ahmadova highlighted Azerbaijan`s socio-economic achievements, saying the country is one of the most rapidly developing ones in the world. The MP highlighted the Azerbaijani government`s work to strengthen the protection of children`s rights. She also lauded efforts of president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.

Ahmadova said Azerbaijan became the region`s tourism center. She said Azerbaijan and Bashkortostan could exchange experience in organizing child tourism. Tolkachev praised what the Azerbaijan Children`s Center, headed by Ahmadova, had been doing to protect children`s rights. He welcomed Ahmadova`s proposal to exchange experience in child tourism, and invited Azerbaijani MPs to visit Bashkortostan. Following the meeting, Ahmadova was interviewed by Bashkortostan`s State Television.
