
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday completed his working
visit to Poland. At the Chopin International Airport, the Head of State
was seen off by Poland`s top state and government officials.
The
same day, President Ilham Aliyev returned to Baku. At the Heydar Aliyev
International Airport, the Head of State was welcomed by Prime Minister
Artur Rasizade, Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev
and Baku Mayor Hajibala Abutalybov.

They exchanged views on development of bilateral relationship in various spheres.

Visiting President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev is attending the Eastern Partnership summit, which started Friday here. The summit of heads of states and governments of EU and the Eastern Partnership countries was opened by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. Welcoming the participants, Tusk spoke of the importance of the Eastern Partnership Programme.
The Summit should increase the pace of further improvement of mutual relations and of EU integration.
Political and economic aspects of cooperation, priority programs, cooperation with European financial institutions, visa regime, and other issues are to be discussed in the event.
The Eastern Partnership is a project which was initiated by the European Union (EU). It was presented by the foreign minister of Poland with assistance from Sweden at a the EU`s General Affairs and External Relations Council in Brussels on 26 May 2008. The Eastern Partnership was inaugurated in Prague on 7 May 2009.
The first meeting of foreign ministers in the framework of the Eastern Partnership was held on 8 December 2009 in Brussels.

A working dinner was given here Thursday for heads of delegations participating in the Eastern Partnership summit.
President Ilham Aliyev was present at the event.

Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and
Vice-President of the European Commission Catherine Ashton.
Discussions
were concerned with peace talks on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,
EU-Azerbaijan cooperation in energy and other fields.

29.09.2011Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has met today with Moldova`s Prime Minister Vladimir Filat here. They stressed importance of the Eastern Partnership Summit being held in Polish capital.
The sides also noted that the summit was a good opportunity to discuss bilateral relations.
They praised level of political ties between Azerbaijan and Moldova, stressing significance of expanding economic cooperation.
Azerbaijani President and Moldovan Premier also exchanged views on cooperation in international and regional organizations, including GUAM - Organization for Democracy and Economic Development, as well as on prospects to develop cooperation in transport, security and energy fields.
