The EU is interested in the peaceful settlement of conflicts in South Caucasus, including the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. In an interview with Armenpress Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said that despite the fact that the Minsk group remains the basic format of international mediation in the settlement of the conflict, EU could also contribute to the peace process, giving impulse to the negotiations.
"The mandate of the EU Special Representative for South Caucasus and Georgia in crisis Philippe Lefort includes the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. EU policy on the improvement and expansion of democratic territories for an extended period, which is realized through association agreements and free trade zones, may also have positive influence on the settlement of conflicts in South Caucasus ", - noted Sikorski.
