Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board meets California Senator

Chairman of the Caucasian Muslim Board (CMB) Sheikh-ul-Islam Allahashukur Pashazadeh has met Chairman of the California Senate Environmental Quality Committee, Senator Joseph Simitian.

The discussed a wide range of issues, including the Azerbaijan-US relations, tolerance and inter-faith dialogue.

Pashazade highlighted the government-religion relations in Azerbaijan. He said Azerbaijan is a tolerant country where representatives of different religions and nations had been co-existing in peace and harmony for centuries. “The foundations of religious tolerance were laid in Azerbaijan by national leader Heydar Aliyev. And this policy is today being successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev.”

Simitian praised religious tolerance in Azerbaijan. Us Ambassador in Baku Matthew Bryza was also present at the meeting.
