European Parliament: Azerbaijan is important in terms of stability of region

Azerbaijan is important for the European Union in terms of stability in the region, Vice President of European Parliament Subcommittee on Security and Defense Norica Nicolai said at an international conference on the 20th anniversary of the independence of the Azerbaijani Republic on Friday.

Nicolai stressed the importance of cooperation with Azerbaijan within the ENP.

She said that Azerbaijan has an ancient history. "Azerbaijan is famous for its culture all over the world," she said. "Azerbaijani people were always strong. They fought for independence."
