
Azerbaijani embassy was not damaged as a result of fights in Tripoli, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Libya Agasalim Shukurov said.
According to him, the situation in Libya is relatively stabile at present. There were some problems in water supply. “All Azerbaijani citizens left Tripoli. Only the staff consisting of local citizens is working now. They said the embassy’s building was not damaged during the fights”.
Agasalim Shukurov said that he was on vacation and would return to Tripoli on September 15-16 after finishing the vacation.
The National Transitional Council of Libya completely ensured control over the country’s capital after the fights in Tripoli. Whereabouts of Muammar Gaddafi are unknown. Most countries, including Azerbaijan recognized the legitimacy of the Libyan National Transitional Council.
