President Ilham Aliyev creates Organizing Committee to nominate Baku for hosting 2020 Olympics

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday signed an order to set up the Organizing Committee to nominate Baku as a candidate to host 2020 Olympic Games. First Vice-Premier Eyub Yagubov was appointed a chairman of the committee.

The committee includes representatives of the National Olympic Committee, ministries and bodies, Olympic champions.

The Ministry of Youth and Sport, Baku Mayor`s Office, jointly with the National Olympic Committee, were tasked with preparing a candidature file to submit to the International Olympic Committee after agreeing it with the Organizing Committee.
