Roland Kobia: Azerbaijan and European Union will soon begin the talks on visa facilitation

Azerbaijan and European Union will begin the talks on visa facilitation soon, head of the EU delegation to Azerbaijan Roland Kobia said.

He said it would facilitate conditions for Azerbaijanis traveling to the EU countries. "This is very important point because visa facilitation procedure was in some countries. If the two sides have political will, the young people and persons of some categories can travel to the EU countries easily".

Kobia noted that they are looking forward to getting a mandate to start the negotiations.

Responding the question about the scheduling next Azerbaijan-EU meeting on associative agreement, the head of delegation said Azerbaijani and EU officials were discussing this issue and most probably the meeting would be held in summer.

Kobia said the next Eastern Partnership summit would take place in Poland later in September and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev would also be invited to this event.
