Russia appreciates the high level of cooperation with Azerbaijan, the head of the Russian presidential administration Sergey Naryshkin said at a meeting with his counterpart from Baku Ramiz Mehdiyev, ITAR-TASS reported.

The heads of the administrations held a regular meeting of the Baku International Humanitarian Forum's organization committee, which is due in early October.

"We are extremely satisfied with the cooperation between our two countries," Sergey Naryshkin said. "Russia and Azerbaijan attach great importance to humanitarian issues. The positions of Moscow and Baku are similar, sometimes identical on the international agenda."

The head-of-staff of the Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev recalled that the presidents of the two countries voiced the initiative to hold the forum. "Azerbaijan treats this issue with great responsibility," he said.

"We think that the forum will be significant as the cooperation between Moscow and Baku develops not only in economy, but also on humanitarian issues," Mehdiyev said.

Mehdiyev said a lot of famous people not only from Russia but from European countries will attend the forum.

"The forum in Baku will confirm that Russia and Azerbaijan reach the international level in the sphere of humanitarian cooperation," he added.
