The next round of dialogue on security issues between Azerbaijan and U.S. is scheduled to be held this month, US Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza said.
He said that U.S. delegation would be led by Assistant Secretary for Bureau of Political-Military Affairs Andrew Shapiro: "We search for new opportunities for the continuation of the dialogue. We hope that dialogue will be held in Baku this month. Now we are working on the organizing the meeting".
Responding the question on re-scheduling the postponed military exercises between U.S. and Azerbaijan, the ambassador underlined the intensity of relations between the two countries: "It concerns security sphere too. U.S. and Azerbaijan hold various trainings in this sphere, including small-scale trainings. We have planned to conduct joint training this year. It is not held yet, but it doesn’t have a serious importance, because our joint activity continues".
Azerbaijan-U.S. consultations on cooperation in military and security sphere are held every year.
