PACE President welcomes release of Azerbaijani journalist

President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Mevlut Cavusoglu welcomed the release of Azerbaijani journalist Eynulla Fatullayev, the organization’s report says.

Cavusoglu said Fatullayev’s release comes following repeated requests of the Parliamentary Assembly and himself.

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to pardon a number of imprisoned persons on May 26. Those pardoned also include the former editor-in-chief of "Real Azerbaijan" and "Gündəlik Azərbaycan" newspapers Eynulla Fatullayev.
