OSCE welcomes release of Eynulla Fatullayev

The OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Ažubalis and the OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media, Dunja Mijatović welcomed the Decree by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to release Eynulla Fatullayev, said in a statement of the organization on Thursday.

By opinion of Ažubalis, this is a strong signal for the whole OSCE region. He encouraged all OSCE participating States to honour their commitments to freedom on the media and release all imprisoned media workers

Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev signed an order to pardon a number of persons in custody. Among those pardoned - a former chief editor of "Real Azerbaijan" and "Gündəlik Azərbaycan" Eynulla Fatullayev
