President Ilham Aliyev receives participants of reporting conference of Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev yesterday received participants of a reporting conference of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples which took place in Baku. The Head of State stressed the importance of the conference.

President Ilham Aliyev noted the important role played by the comprehensive and close co-operated between Azerbaijan and Russia, joint organization of various events on religious topics as well as mutual visits of religious leaders in bolstering stability, security and confidence building.

The Head of State characterized the way of overall social and economic development observed in recent period of time in Azerbaijan, the care taken by the state about freedom of conscience and religious-national moral values in our republic and the protection of holy religious sanctuaries.

The President said Azerbaijan was among the first countries to fight terrorism, extremism and other global threats, President Ilham Aliyev noted in particular the importance of pursuing a right youth policy.

Sheikh-ul-Islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazade, Chairman of Caucasus Muslims Board, Chairman of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples spoke of proper organization of the reporting conference of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples and important decisions taken at the event. Pashazade noted that the sensitive attitude was shown at the state level to religious-national moral values in Azerbaijan as a result of comprehensive efforts of great leader Heydar Aliyev, and this policy is being continued successfully still. Sheikh ul Islam stressed that religious people will continue to spare no efforts in contributing to peace, stability and comprehensive development in Caucasus.

Chairman of Dagestan Muslims Religious Board Mufti Ahmad Abdullayev highlighted speedy social and economic development of Azerbaijan and high observance of national and moral values.

Chairman of Chechen Muslims Religious Board Mufti Soltan Mirzoyev conveyed the best regards of Ramzan Kadyrov, the head of Chechen Republic to President Ilham Aliyev. He spoke also about overall development pathway passed by Azerbaijan in social and economic fields.

Chairman of North Ossetia – Alania Muslims Religious Board Mufti Hajimurad Gatsalov and Chairman of Adygey Muslims Religious Board Mufti Nurbi Yemij noted the important role played by Azerbaijan in ensuring peace, security and regional development in Caucasus.

Co-chairman of the Trustees Committee of CIS Inter-religious Council Abbas Abbasov said that they will continue to take comprehensive measures to strengthen cross-religious dialogue.

President Ilham Aliyev asked the guests to transmit his regards and best wishes to the heads of republics in North Caucasus and wished successes to the participants of reporting conference of the Supreme Religious Council of Caucasian Peoples held in Baku.
