All processes associated with flights to the occupied Azerbaijani territories should be carried out in accordance with established international legal norms and relevant legislation, Azerbaijani Presidential Administration Foreign Relations Department Head Novruz Mammadov said.
"All processes should be carried out in accordance with established legal norms and relevant legislation," Mammadov told journalists today commenting on the Armenian President's visit to Khankendi this week and his acquaintance with illegal construction of an airport in this territory.
Armenia plans to open the airport in Khankendi in May. Armenian President said that he will be the first passenger of an aircraft, which will depart from Khankendi.
Mammadov said the relevant international convention, as well as laws exist on this issue.
"Armenia takes steps violating these laws, however, all steps taken in this sphere should be regulated only within the law," he said.
Armenia has no right to operate the airport in Khankendi, built in the Azerbaijani occupied territories. This contradicts all international conventions and will not be allowed by any international organizations, including an influential organization such as the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), AZAL spokesman Maharram Safarli said earlier.
