
Switzerland responded to the note of protest of Azerbaijan, press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
Azerbaijan’s embassy in Switzerland and Lichtenstein said that the embassy’s note to the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs in a protest against the materials submitted in the Armenian mount at the 25th International Book and Press Exhibition in Geneva on April 29, 2011 and violated the territorial integrity of our country, was responded. The Federal Department expressed its regret that the materials distorted by the Armenians were displayed at the exhibition.
The Federal Department said only the mount host has responsibility for the materials and the legal proceeding will be possible only in that case if it violates the laws of Switzerland. The organizers of the exhibition were informed about the issue and the organizers are doing their best to convince the Armenian host of exhibition mount.
The Federal Department said in its letter that those distorted materials are against the position of the government of Switzerland regarding the occupied Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and adjacent regions, and the Federal Department recommended to Swiss citizens on its website no to travel to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan – Nagorno Karabakh and adjacent regions.
