Azerbaijani Parliament may hold a special meeting on the 20th anniversary of the country’s independence.

Azerbaijani MP, Deputy Executive Secretary of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party Mubariz Gurbanli offered at a parliamentary meeting today to hold a special parliamentary meeting on Azerbaijan’s 20th independence in the autumn.

"At a special parliamentary meeting in October this year the parliament may discuss Azerbaijan’s achievements over 20 years of independence," he added.

He said now it is necessary to create a working group to organize these discussions and appoint a speaker.

Azerbaijan celebrates the 20th anniversary of its independence this year.
