National security ministry takes measures to prevent threats to Azerbaijan

To prevent possible threats to national security interests of Azerbaijan, the National Security Ministry takes important preventive measures and controls the operational situation, director of the Ministry's center for public affairs Arif Babayev said.

After the killing of Osama bin Laden, Interpol Secretary General Ronald Noble called on members of the organization to display a high alert because of possible attempts of acts of terror.

The leader of al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden, was killed on May 1 by the U.S. Army Special Forces in a house near the Pakistani capital of Islamabad. This was confirmed by the U.S. President Barack Obama. He said that authorized the operation a week ago, and Pakistani authorities were notified of it.
