Second general session of TurkPA to be held in Astana

The second general meeting of the TurkPA (Parliamentary Assembly of Turkisn-speaking countries) will be held in Astana, Kazakhstan on April 27-29.

The meeting will mainly deal with the 20th anniversary of independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

In addition, the meeting of the Assembly's Council will take place as well. The event will be opened by Council's chairman-in-office, Speaker of the Azerbaijan's Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov. President of the Kazakh Majilis Ural Mukhammedjanov will take over the chairmanship.

The general meeting is expected to adopt the TurkPA's official flag and emblem, discuss international parliament organizations' observer membership applications, venue and date of the third general session, adoption of the Astana declaration and other issues.
