President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Orthodox Christians on Easter

President Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Orthodox Christian community of Azerbaijan on the Easter.

The President, in particular, underlined in his message that traditional fraternal and friendly relations among peoples who have lived in Azerbaijan for centuries, coexistence of various religions in an atmosphere of mutual respect and trust glorified our country in the world as a place of exemplary tolerance.

"Preservation of religious-ethnic diversity, historical-spiritual heritage in Azerbaijan is one of priority directions of our state policy, and we will continue our efforts in this field," the message runs.

The President pointed out the Christian community including Orthodox citizens take an active part in development processes in the country and do their civic duty.
