21 April 2011 [18:17] - TODAY.AZ
The second plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of Turkic-speaking countries (TurkPA) will be held in Kazakhstan on April 27-29, TurkPA general secretary Ramil Hasanov said in an interview with the official website of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party.

The preparatory work is under completion, Hasanov said.

He said that the representatives of the TurkPA Secretariat will go to Astana on April 24.

The draft agenda of the session has been prepared, he said.

He said that the session in Astana is devoted to the 20th anniversary of independence of Turkic speaking countries, included in the former Soviet Union.

"It is planned to establish four standing committees," he said. "It is a social commission, a commission for cultural and humanitarian affairs, a commission for economic, commercial and financial affairs and a commission on law and international relations."

He said that it is planned to adopt a program of TurkPA's activity in 2011-2012.

The OIC PA heads, TÜRKSOY, Council on Security and Cooperation in Asia and representatives of other organizations will attend the TurkPA session, he said.
