
On April 15, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel-General Kemaleddin Heydarov met with U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Matthew Bryza, the ministry’s website reported.
Minister spoke about the Ministry of Emergency Situations and its structures, the projects implemented by the ministry, activities carried out to improve the relations with international and regional organizations, relevant agencies of the foreign states.
The sides exchanged views on the exercises for protection of the important infrastructure, elimination of the consequences of possible disasters in the Caspian Sea, flood management, opportunities of cooperation with the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
Ambassador underlined the importance of enhancing cooperation between relevant agencies of Azerbaijan and the US, continuing activity in this regard.
