Azerbaijani delegation to PACE to raise issues of airport building in Khankendi and killing of 9-year-old child by Armenians

07 April 2011 [19:06] - TODAY.AZ
During the session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Azerbaijani delegation will raise the issues of airport building in Khankendi by Armenians and killing of 9-year-old Fariz Badalov by the Armenian snipers, member of the Azerbaijani delegation to PACE, MP Ganira Pashayeva said.

Pashayeva said they would present substantiated facts to the European parliamentarians. "We will raise the issue of illegal airport building in the Azerbaijani town of Khankendi occupied by Armenia, because this action is against the international law, UN Security Council resolutions, as well as Armenia’s commitments before the PACE and PACE decisions".

MP said PACE resolution expressly demands withdrawal of Armenian forces from the occupied Azerbaijani lands and return of internally displaced persons to their homeland.

"We will raise the issue again that Armenia doesn’t fulfill the PACE resolution and is illegally building airport in the occupied territories. We will also mention the Armenian president’s statement that he will be a first passenger of the flight to Khankendi and we will focus attention on that the Armenian leadership refuses to fulfill the international law norms and resolution of the international organizations and deepens the conflict. We will demand the international organization to give assessment to this and to force Armenia to fulfill its resolutions. We will stress that if Armenia doesn’t stop such actions, Azerbaijan will use other sovereign opportunities to prevent it".

Pashayeva said she would actively participate in the discussion of all issues within the framework of the session.
