Azeri-Turk Woman Union Chairperson does not accept Armenians' invitation

31 March 2011 [10:33] - TODAY.AZ
Azeri-Turk Woman Union Chairperson Tanzila Rustamkhanli has not accepted the proposals of the Armenians to visit Nagorno-Karabakh, she told Trend.

She said that earlier, Armenians invited her to an international conference held in Yerevan. But she refused from participating in it as Nagorno-Karabakh is Azerbaijani territory. Each person wishing to visit Karabakh must obtain a permission of the Azerbaijani state.

"Holding of this conference without the permission of Azerbaijan is illegal," she said.

Armenians plan to hold an international conference within the "Women for Peace" program in Nagorno-Karabakh on May 5, Armenian news agencies said.

Tanzila Rustamkhanli was invited to this event from the Azerbaijani side.

Earlier Brussels and Geneva conducted conferences on captured and missing persons in Nagorno-Karabakh, she said.

"We have submitted the well-founded materials to these events," she said. A decision was made that the next conference must take place in Yerevan. I refused from participating in the conference in Yerevan as the Armenian side does not abandon its positions although it is wrong. I think that there is no need to cooperate with them."
