International court may file criminal case on genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis

The documents of the special investigation commission, considering the genocide committed by Armenians against Azerbaijanis during the Democratic Republic of Azerbaijan can become a basis for initiating criminal proceedings against the Armenians in the international court, the head of the National Archives Department Atakhan Pashayev told media.

He said that these documents are being transferred to the international court to file a criminal case against the Armenians accusing them of committing the genocide
"The commission has the facts fully proving the Armenian genocide policy," he said. As a result of the investigations conducted by the commission, it became known that the archives include the research materials in 36 volumes and 3,500 pages.

Most of the archival material are devoted to the genocide committed in Baku and seven materials - to the genocide in Shamakhi. According to the documents, roughly 11,000 Azerbaijanis were killed in Baku, 8,000 - in Shamakhi, more than 8,000 - in Shamakhi district.
