Iranian president: No factor can destruct Iran- Azerbaijan brotherly ties

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Elchin Efendiyev in Tehran, the Iranian Presidential official news website president.ir reported.

The meeting discussed issues of bilateral relations.

"Azerbaijan and Iran relations are brotherly in nature and no factor can destruct these relations," Ahmadinejad said.

There is a sincere relationship between the Iranian and Azerbaijani people. "Iran considers Azerbaijan’s development as its own and is ready to cooperate in all fields to serve the interests of both peoples," he said.

Efendiyev thanked for the event held on the occasion of Novruz in Iran.

Azerbaijan has always been interested in the further development of relations with Iran, Efendiyev said.

Efendiyev visited Iran to take part in the Novruz holiday celebrations.Tehran hosted celebrations on March 27-28 that was attended by the presidents of several Iran's neighboring countries that celebrate Novruz.

On Feb.23, 2010 the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution declaring March 21 as International Day of Novruz at the initiative of Azerbaijan.
