Baku and Prague gear up for next round of consultations between foreign ministries

A second round of political consultation between the ministries of foreign affairs of Azerbaijan and Czech Republic will be held in the second half of the year. Now both sides are selecting a venue for the meetings.

The consultations will focus on consular procedures, legal matters and other issues, according to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic Tahir Taghizadeh.

The Czech Republic recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan on January 8, 1992. Diplomatic relations between two countries were established on January 29, 1993.

On August 15, 2007 an opening ceremony of the Embassy of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic was held in Prague. On September 10 of 2007 Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic Tahir Taghizadeh presented his credentials to the President Václav Klaus of the Czech Republic.
