President Ilham Aliyev attends groundbreaking ceremony for new terminal building at Heydar Aliyev International Airport - PHOTOS

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has attended today groundbreaking ceremony for a new terminal building at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport.

The President was warmly welcomed by the event participants.

President of the "Azerbaijan Airlines" Company, AZAL, Jahangir Asgarov told President Ilham Aliyev that the new terminal to cover 58 thousand square meters, will be provided with modern technology. The annual passenger turnover of the Heydar Aliyev Airport will reach three million peoples after the complex is commissioned.

The Head of State saw the scheme of the complex and stands featuring reconstruction works to be carried out at the terminal.

Then, President Ilham Aliyev put a time capsule into the foundation and covered it with liquid concrete.

The Head of State met with the staff of the Airport and constructors, gave recommendations and instructions.
