8th meeting of GUAM working group on tourism held in Tokyo

The 8th meeting of the GUAM working group on tourism with participation of tourism administrations and representatives of the tourist agencies of the GUAM member states, as well as representatives of the Japanese side and the GUAM Secretariat took place in Tokyo, Japan.

The participants expressed gratitude to Japan for conducting high-level seminar on tourism JICA for travel companies and administrations of the GUAM member states and for promotion of the joint tourist product of GUAM in the Japanese market.

The meeting participants emphasized that they are close to complete all items of the Action Plan for development of the joint GUAM-Japan tourist product adopted during the fifth meeting of the GUAM Working Group on Tourism in Baku, on June 24-25.

The participants agreed to recommend to the country coordinator of the working group (Georgia) to consider the organization of the next ninth meeting of the GUAM Working Group on Tourism between the heads of departments responsible for tourism development in the GUAM member states.

The next working group meeting will be held in the second quarter of 2011 in Georgia.
